We live in an age where humans can alter the environment in astonishing and dramatic ways. Spidergoat and the Insect Electro was inspired by synthetic biology, the story of insect fibres and the current developments in science.

It is an artist’s interpretation of our brave new worlds where goat have been genetically modified to excrete spider silk in their milk.

Commissioned by the National Wool Museum, artist Kathy Holowko created an immersive gallery experience - 350 square-metre spiderweb that you could walk through. An extraordinary creation that told the story of humans creating spidergoats. A wonderful interpretation of how we are recreating and impacting the natural functions of our planet.
